Psychological Type Descriptions:
ENFJ

Description:
ENFJs are the natural teachers of the world. Accounting for only 2-5% of the population, they are charismatic, energetic, and enthusiastic leaders. ENFJs have the unusual ability of being able to motivate others to achieve more than they ever thought possible. This motivation often stems not from explicit commands, but from the ENFJ's enthusiastic encouragement and blind faith that of course their expectations will be met. It is of the highest priority to an ENFJ that those around them constantly grow and learn. People and institutions that the ENFJ respects are often idealized and followed loyally. ENFJs generally love people and can usually spot what motivates others quickly. This type might be described as tolerant, conscientious, diplomatic, and friendly. Other types could use the powerful interpersonal skills of the ENFJ to manipulate, but this type is usually much more interested in nurturing. ENFJs often report that even as children they had many friends who sought them out and followed their lead in working and playing. Luckily, ENFJs seem to have an almost endless supply of ideas for new ways to work and play.

Potential Blindspots:
As with any type, ENFJs can encounter problems in certain areas. The ENFJ's strong pull to help others grow can lead them to overlook their own needs. Since their ability to relate to others is so strong, ENFJs may sometimes become overwhelmed with others' problems and need to learn to set boundaries to allow space for themselves. ENFJs' desire for harmony within groups may leave them less likely to confront problems and their amazing diplomatic skills often lead to less than complete honesty. Additionally, the ENFJ's idealizing of others sometimes becomes unrealistic and they may need to recognize that others have real limitations.
